AAEP Foundation Equine Disaster Relief Fund Organizes to aid equine victims of Hurricane Florence

In the wake of hurricane Florence, disaster relief efforts are being organized by the AAEP Foundation to aid horses involved in the aftermath of the hurricane.

As the exact needs are unknown, supplies are not being accepted at this time. All money donated will go directly into the Equine Disaster Relief Fund and will be used to directly aid horses in need. Any contributions not used during this relief effort will remain in the Fund and be used during during the next natural disaster relief effort.

In 2005, following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation formed the Equine Disaster Relief Fund. The fund serves to aid in the safety and care of horses affected by natural disasters, as well as disaster preparedness training and education for veterinarians, horse owners, and first responders. The AAEP Foundation was involved and the Fund utilized during relief efforts after hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria hit. The AAEP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity established in 1994.
